Transforming Education at Dahej School

Investing in a school’s future is an investment in every child who walks through its doors.

Every educational institution has the potential to shape young minds, provided it has the resources to do so. Recognising this, Meghmani Foundation undertook a comprehensive initiative to strengthen the educational infrastructure of a government-aided secondary and higher secondary school at Dahej in Vagra Taluka, Bharuch district.

Established in 1961, the school serves as an important centre of learning for the region and is the only school in the entire taluka offering Science education at the higher secondary level. Despite receiving government grants, the school faced financial constraints due to growing enrolment and expanding academic requirements. With 574 students studying in Classes 9 to 12, the existing infrastructure was no longer adequate to meet their educational needs.

The school’s immediate request was for additional computers to support digital learning. After assessing the school’s requirements, Meghmani Foundation decided to go beyond the original request and support a more comprehensive transformation.

On July 29, 2023, the Foundation extended financial assistance of ₹25 lakh to establish a dedicated computer laboratory and develop improved educational infrastructure. The initiative included the construction and renovation of a modern school building, creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The project was successfully completed, and the upgraded facilities were inaugurated on November 11, 2024. On this occasion, the institution was renamed Matushree Ilaben Rasiklal Sheth Janata Vidyalaya, marking the beginning of a new chapter in its journey. Senior representatives of Meghmani Foundation attended the ceremony, appreciated the school’s commitment to quality education, and reaffirmed the Foundation’s continued support for initiatives that strengthen educational opportunities for future generations.
